아주 무거운 빛을 상상하며, 빛의 무게가 어떤 것들-어둠,상념,착각,향수 등-을 눌러 움직이지 못하게 하는 장면을 떠올렸다. 바르셀로나엔 2014년, 2016년에도 한번씩 갔었다. 내 앞에 놓인 현실 위에 씌워져 있는 과거의 얇은 겹을 느꼈다. 같은 장소이지만 다른 시간 위에, 같은 사람이지만 다른 정신을 가지고 거기에 서있었다.
A scene: A piece of light that is heavy enough to hold things down– reveries, darkness, nostalgias, and a wrong guess. I was in Barcelona in 2014 and 2016, both times for a short trip. Layers: the thin and transparent layers of the past wrapping the reality that I confront now. I was there in the same place but at a different point each time, with another mind as the same person.
* Cities series are minted as NFTs and presented in Wemix Auction from 17March 2022 to 20 March 2022 as Drop #31. The artworks were made with the VR painting software Quill with the intention of showing them in the form of VR in the near future.
